Poetry Competition

The winning poem by Dylan Anns Year 6, Burnham Copse Primary School

There's Something in the Forest

Twigs snapping,
Wolves yapping,
Branches swaying,
Birds playing.

There's something in the forest.
Leaves blowing,

Waterfall flowing,

Can I hear thunder?

What a wonder.

There's something in the forest.

Smell of fresh meat,

I hope it's not my feet,
Sense of wet animal,

It makes me feel uncomfortable,

There's something in the forest.
Just turned as dark as ebony
Two red eyes following me

I wonder in my head,

What couId it be?

There's something in the forest.
Feeling fur,

Is it a him or is it a her?
Would you dare,

To ever go there?

There's something in the forest.
